Individual and Company Sentenced for Electrical Violations

The Department of Government Services advises that John Maher and Maher Manufacturing Co. Ltd of Conception Bay South pleaded guilty on May 8 in Provincial Court in St. Johns to charges stemming from electrical violations.

Mr. Maher pleaded guilty to operating a system in a manner that does not comply with section 15(1) of the Public Safety Act and was fined $500. Maher Manufacturing Co. Ltd. pleaded guilty to failing to obtain an installation permit or submit plans as required by section 8(3) of the Electrical Regulations and was fined $500. Another four charges against both the individual and company were withdrawn.
