Media Advisory: Aquaculture Ministers to Hold News Conference

Provincial aquaculture ministers from three provinces will hold a news conference on Thursday, November 22, at 3:45 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) at the National Press Theatre in Ottawa.

The ministers are in Ottawa meeting with federal ministers to provide the Federal Government with information on the tremendous potential of the Canadian aquaculture industry. The federal and provincial governments have been working cooperatively for a number of years to ensure an appropriate approach is being taken to the development of the industry.

Participating ministers are the Honourable Tom Rideout, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador; the Honourable Ronald Quellette, Minister of Agriculture and Aquaculture for New Brunswick; and the Honourable Allan Campbell, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture for Prince Edward Island.
