The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will attend the annual Summer Meeting of the Council of the Federation August 8 10 in Moncton, New Brunswick. The focus of this years meeting will be energy and climate change and Premier Williams looks forward to productive discussions. "For the past 12 months, I had the privilege of chairing the Council of the Federation and I was pleased with the progress we made as premiers, particularly on the Energy Strategy," said Premier Williams. "I was also chair of the COF Energy Committee and I look forward to presenting the Energy Strategy document to my colleagues at this meeting. A great deal of work has gone into this strategy over the past year by all provinces and territories and I look forward to its release. Of course, I will also take the opportunity to promote Newfoundland and Labradors potential for clean and renewable energy." Two days of discussions will take place at the Delta Beausjour Hotel with a concluding news conference scheduled for August 10, 2007. The Council of the Federation comprises all 13 provincial and territorial premiers.
