Executive Council June 12, 2007 Media Advisory: Minister in Gander to Make Violence Prevention Announcement The Honourable Joan Burke, Lead Minister of the Violence Prevention Initiative and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, will be joined by community groups on Wednesday, June 13 to release Budget 2007 details for the Violence Prevention Initiative. The event will take place at the Hotel Gander at 12:00 noon. Prior to the announcement, Minister Burke will honour students of Gander Academy with awards for their work to prevent violence. The minister will be at Gander Academy for the award ceremony at 11:00 a.m. The Violence Prevention Initiative is the Provincial Government�s six-year partnership with community-based organizations to dramatically reduce violence in Newfoundland and Labrador. -30- Media contact: 2007 06 12 12:10 p.m.
