Members of the Economic Policy Committee of Cabinet will hold a meeting in Plum Point on Friday (June 8).

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Chair of the committee and Minister of Natural Resources, said this is one of several meetings the committee has held outside St. John�s over the past few years.

"We are delighted to be able to hold our next meeting in Plum Point and look forward to our discussions with municipal leaders from the region," Minister Dunderdale said.

The committee will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Friday with the executive and other representatives of the Northern Peninsula Joint Council. The meeting will take place at Plum Point Motel.

In addition to Minister Dunderdale, ministers attending will be the Honourable Trevor Taylor, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development; the Honourable Tom Marshall, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board; the Honourable Kevin O�Brien, Minister of Business; the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation; and, the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Environment and Conservation. Wallace Young, MHA for St. Barbe, will also attend.

Ministers Dunderdale, Taylor and Jackman will also attend the conference being held on Saturday by the Northern Peninsula Joint Council, also at Plum Point. They will be joined at that event by the Honourable Jack Byrne, Minister of Municipal Affairs. Ministers Byrne and Jackman will be guest speakers at the conference.
