Media Advisory: 14^th Session of the Council of Atlantic Premiers

Premier Rodney MacDonald will a host meeting of the Atlantic premiers at the 14^th Session of the Council of Atlantic Premiers in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, on June 1, 2007.  The focus of the premiers� discussions will be energy and the environment, and collaborative measures to increase the competitiveness of Atlantic Canada.

The meeting will commence at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, at St. Francis Xavier University.  A photo opportunity will be available between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. in the Keiller Mackay Room of the Bloomfied Centre.  A news conference will be held in the Council Chambers of the Bloomfield Centre at 1:00 p.m.  Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided during the news conference.  The news release issued from the meeting will be distributed by each province�s communications office following the meeting and will be accessible at www.cap-cpma.ca.

A media working area will be located in the Alumni Lounge of the Bloomfield Centre and will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1.

All media representatives, including journalists, photographers, camera operators, and technicians, may register by submitting their name, affiliation, and contact information to the Council of Atlantic Premiers� Information Officer by May 30, 2007.  Only registered media will be notified directly of any changes to the meeting schedule.
