Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Readings by Winterset Award Finalists

Tourism, Culture and Recreation Minister, the Honourable Tom Hedderson, will attend a celebration honouring the three finalists for the 2006 Winterset Award today, Wednesday, March 28 at the Masonic Temple, 6 Cathedral Street, St. John�s, at 4 p.m.

The three finalists, Ken Babstock (Airstream Land Yacht), Kenneth Harvey (Inside) and Russell Wangersky (The Hour of Bad Decisions) will read from their acclaimed works.

Established in 2000 to commemorate the life of Sandra Gwyn � a tireless supporter of Newfoundland and Labrador culture � the Winterset Award celebrates excellence in Newfoundland and Labrador writing.

The winner of the 2006 Winterset Award will be announced on Thursday, March 29, by His Honour, the Honourable Edward Roberts, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador.
