Media Advisory: Atlantic Canada Premiers� Mission
Thursday, January 25 to Saturday, January 27

The Council of Atlantic Premiers Mission to Alberta will take place from January 25 to 27, 2007. Premier of Prince Edward Island Pat Binns, Premier of New Brunswick Shawn Graham, Premier of Nova Scotia Rodney MacDonald, and Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador Danny Williams will travel to Edmonton and Fort McMurray to promote trade and investment opportunities between Alberta and Atlantic Canada.

Following is the agenda for the mission:

Thursday, January 25:

  • Atlantic Premiers� Reception with Alberta and Atlantic Business Leaders, Edmonton;
  • Private Premiers� meeting with Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach.
  • Friday, January 26

  • Breakfast Hosted by Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Authority, Nisku Inn, 8 a.m. Event open to the media, and a scrum will follow at 9:30 a.m. If media are interested in attending this activity, contact Janice Henderson, Council of Atlantic Premiers, jhenderson@cap-cpma.ca, by January 23.
  • Premiers� editorial board with the Edmonton Journal;
  • Delegation travels to Fort McMurray;
  • Guided tour of Syncrude for delegation. Photo opportunity for media at 4:30 p.m. If media are interested in attending this activity, contact Alain Moore, Syncrude, 780-790-6406.
  • Atlantic Premiers� Reception with Fort McMurray and Atlantic Business Leaders, Fort McMurray.
