Media Advisory: Minister to Address Nature Conservancy of Canada

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is celebrating 10 conservation successes across the country on the sixth anniversary of its annual Gifts to Canadians for Canada Day. The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, will bring greetings at NCCs annual Gifts to Canadians in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The event will take place at the atrium of the Fine Arts Building, Grenfell College, Corner Brook on Tuesday, June 26. Minister Jackman will speak at 10:00 a.m.

The 10 natural areas to be highlighted during the national celebrations are part of the more than 500 properties protected by NCC over the past six years. Each conserves important habitat for many rare and endangered wildlife species and features inspirational examples of how Canadians from coast to coast are doing their part to protect Canadas natural legacy.

The NCC is a non-profit, non-advocacy organization that takes a quiet approach to land conservation and the preservation of biological diversity.
