The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of
Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative
to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
Corner Brook Pulp & Paper Forest Management District 15 Five-Year
Operating Plan (2003-2007) Amendment (Reg. 1318)
Proponent: Corner Brook Pulp & Paper Ltd.
The proponent proposes an amendment to the Five-Year Operating Plan for
Forest Management District 15 in two locations: Grand Lake South and
Hughes Brook. In the Hughes Brook operating area, the amendment provides
for a harvest of approximately 67,000 cubic metres of timber in 2008,
with the construction of approximately 5.0 kilometres of primary access
roads in 2007. In the Grand Lake South operating area, the amendment
provides for a harvest of approximately 38,000 cubic metres of timber in
2008, and construction of approximately 11.0 kilometres of primary
access roads in 2007 and 2008. The undertaking was registered on March
22, 2007; public comments are due by April 26, 2007; and the minister's
decision is due by April 30, 2007.
