Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

COMPONENT STUDY RECEIVED:

Long Harbour Commercial Nickel Processing Plant Project                               (Reg. 1243)
Proponent: Voisey's Bay Nickel Company

The proponent has submitted a Human Health Component Study for the environmental assessment of the above undertaking entitled Review of the Health Status of the Long Harbour Area Residents. The Component Study was received on March 20, 2007 and is available for public review. Public comments must be received not later than Thursday, April 26, 2007. The minister will decide the acceptability of the study not later than Friday, May 11, 2007.
