Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT REQUIRED:

Lower Churchill River Hydroelectric Generation Project                                       (Reg. 1305)

Proponent: Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro

The minister has advised the proponent that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required for this project. An environmental assessment committee will be appointed to provide scientific and technical advice to the minister and to prepare draft guidelines for conducting the EIS. ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT APPROVED:

Belleoram Crushed Rock Export Quarry                                                            (Reg. 1247)

Proponent: Continental Stone Limited

The minister has advised the proponent that the Environmental Preview Report (EPR) meets the guidelines and the EPR is approved on January 23, 2007.

Baine Harbour to Parker�s Cove ATV/Walking Trail                                             (Reg. 1306)
