Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING RELEASED:

Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Transshipment & Storage Terminal                            (Reg. 1304)
Proponent: Newfoundland LNG Limited

The minister has released the above project from further environmental assessment, subject to the following conditions:

  • An Employment Equity Plan must be submitted to and approved by the Minister of Environment and Conservation prior the start of construction.

  • A Risk Assessment Study must be submitted to and approved by the Minister of Environment and Conservation prior to the start of construction and issuance of necessary Crown lands.

  • An Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) must be submitted to and approved by the Minister of Environment and Conservation prior the start of construction.
