Notice of Special Ballot Deadline

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer would like to notify the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador that time is quickly running out to apply to vote by Special Ballot.

There is still time to apply for a Special Ballot. To get an application visit the Elections NL Web site ( www.gov.nl.ca/elections ), contact the Chief Electoral Office at 1-877-729-7987, contact your district returning office, or apply in person at a designated district office location. These applications must be received by 6:00 p.m. on October 2, 2007.

Please be advised that the designated Special Ballot office locations are open on Wednesdays and Saturdays only, so if electors would like to apply for a Special Ballot and vote in person at these offices, they should do so by Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. Electors may contact these offices for further information.

Special Ballots may be mailed to the Chief Electoral Office, 39 Hallett Crescent, St. John�s, A1B 4C4. Additionally, electors may drop off completed ballots at the district Advance Poll where there will be Special Ballot drop-off boxes available.

The deadline for receipt of completed Special Ballots at both the district returning office and at the Chief Electoral Office headquarters is 4:00 p.m. on October 3, 2007.
