Special Ballot Voting

With the 2007 provincial election approaching, the people of Newfoundland and Labrador should be reminded that Special Ballot Voting has begun in all 48 electoral district returning offices. These offices opened August 20, 2007, and 10 additional Special Ballot Office locations have been designated.

Applications for Special Ballot Voting are available from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, 39 Hallett Crescent, St. John�s, NL, A1B 4C4; the returning officers in each of the 48 electoral districts; the Web site of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer; or from appointed election officials at designated special ballot locations throughout the province. The deadline for these applications is 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007.

People who are qualified to vote and who have reason to believe that they may have difficulty voting at an advance poll or at the poll on polling day may apply for Special Ballot Voting.
