Results of March 13, 2007 By Election in Electoral District of Labrador West

The official addition of the votes for the March 13, 2007 By Election in the Electoral District of Labrador West was completed by the returning officer, Mr. Louis Dumaresque at the office of the returning officer located in the Menihek Shopping Centre, Grenfell Drive, Labrador City beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007. Mr. Dumaresque has certified the following votes cast for each candidate.

TOTAL VOTES CAST: 4,011

Total Electors Sworn In at Polls: 535 (7%)

In keeping with Sections 163(1) and 163(3) of the Elections Act, the returning officer will forward to the Chief Electoral Officer a copy of the declaration of election of Mr. Jim Baker on Thursday, March 29, 2007, 12 clear days following the official addition of the votes, for publication in the Newfoundland Gazette whereupon arrangements will be made to swear him in as the member of the House of Assembly for the Electoral District of Labrador West.
