Media advisory: Minister Visits Happy Valley-Goose Bay to Present Literacy Award

The Honourable Joan Burke, Minister of Education, will be in Happy Valley-Goose Bay tomorrow (Thursday, March 8) to present the Council of the Federation (COF) Literacy Award. The minister is presenting the award on behalf of the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. This year�s recipient is a resident of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The COF Literacy Award recognizes the valuable contributions made by Canadians in the field of literacy and is presented annually in each province and territory.

The event will take place at the Lake Melville Literacy Council, North Star Building, 114 Hamilton River Road at 9:45 a.m.
