Government Releases Labrador Transportation Plan Consultation Document

The Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Transportation and Works and Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs, today released a report to aid in the development of a sustainable transportation plan for Labrador.

"With the release of this consultation document, government is moving forward with its Blueprint commitment to develop Labrador to its fullest potential and to reflect the objectives and aspirations of Labradorians," said Minister Hickey.

"When completed, the Labrador transportation plan will reflect government�s priorities for the social and economic development of Labrador.

"Our government, through this initiative, is again demonstrating an ongoing commitment to meaningful consultation with Labradorians by ensuring inclusion on key issues such as transportation."

In the coming months, government will conduct key stakeholder consultations in developing the plan. In support of the consultation and planning process, the consultation document and feedback form are available through the Department of Transportation and Works Web site at: www.tw.gov.nl.ca/publications/ltp-consultation.pdf .

The public can request a copy of the report via e-mail ltp@gov.nl.ca. Written responses to the consultation document can be submitted to this e-mail or through regular mail:
