NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister to attend
cultural events on province�s west coast and Northern Peninsula
Tom Hedderson, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will be
attending cultural events on the province�s west coast and Northern
Peninsula this weekend.
Minister Hedderson will bring greetings at the official opening of
Roberts House Information Centre in Woody Point, Bonne Bay, tomorrow
(Friday, August 18) at 10:30 a.m.
Roberts House, constructed in 1898, was one of the few structures saved
in a fire that destroyed most of the harbour front in 1922. Roberts
House currently operates as a visitor information centre for the Town of
Woody Point and was declared a registered heritage structure by the
Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador in October 2003.
On Friday evening, Minister Hedderson will be attending Double Axe
Murder a mystery/thriller by Bernie Stapleton as part of the Gros Morne
Theatre Festival in Cow Head. For further information about the Gros

On Saturday (August 19), Minister Hedderson will attend a matinee at the
literary festival Writers at Woody Point at 1:30 p.m. The matinee will
include an on stage interview with Wayne Johnston by Shelagh Rogers.
Music will be provided by Gros Morne Summer Music.
From August 17 - 20 Writers at Woody Point will showcase readings by
featured writers and music by Newfoundland musicians. For further
