Bicycle Newfoundland and Labrador announces Spruce Pine Acres Tour de Port au Port/ Provincial Road Championships

The Tour de Port au Port is an annual 97 km road cycling race around the French, Port au Port Peninsula on the island's west coast. This tour attracts many competitive racers as well as more recreational riders of all abilities.

• Saturday, August 19
• Pre Register, 11 a.m. start
• Awards and celebration starting 5:30 p.m.
• Group fun ride the following morning

This year�s Tour de Port au Port will be Newfoundland and Labrador�s provincial championships, and will include the awarding of Canadian national ranking points.

The course is a loop, following the coast and passing through many of its small communities, which are hugely supportive. Along the course there are a couple of challenging hills and beautiful coastal scenery. There will be awards and a celebration to follow that evening, as well as a relaxed group ride the next morning.

There will be a cash prize for the top three male and females, and prizes for: fastest mom; fastest dad; fastest first time; most improved; and most spirited.
