The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

National basketball scores

The Newfoundland basketball U15 and U17 girls� teams lost their games on Wednesday at the national championships in Sherbrook, Quebec. The U15 team lost a heartbreaker to Saskatchewan 45-42 in the morning and was defeated by Quebec in their second game of the day 63-48. The U17 girls� team were defeated 72-35 by Nova Scotia and lost to New Brunswick 64-38. The U15 team is now 1-2 while the U17 team is 0-2.

The boys� teams competing in Vancouver, BC also lost their games on Wednesday. The U15 team were defeated by Nova Scotia 75-52 and also lost to Ontario 98-28. The U17 team was defeated 108-59 by Ontario and then lost to a strong host BC team 93-40. This left both teams 0-2 for the tournament.
