The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador :  

National Club Championships  

Seven basketball teams from Newfoundland and Labrador will travel off the island this week for National and Eastern Canadian Club Championships.  The National U15 Club Championships will take place in Hamilton , Ontario this Thursday - Sunday, June 29 - July 2.  The Cowan Heights Youth Basketball League will have two teams in attendance, one at the male and female events.  The other representative from the province will be the Junior Vikings who will also attend the female championship. 

Four teams will travel to Prince Edward Island this week to attend the Eastern Canadians Championships in the U13 and U14 age groups.  The Goulds Hoopsters will represent the province at the U13 and the U14 girls� event while Shea Heights will attend the U13 and U14 boys� categories.  Competition will commence on Thursday and will conclude with the championship games slotted for Sunday.
