NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister to be guest speaker at ACA opening gala  

Tom Hedderson, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will be the guest speaker at the opening gala of the 31st annual conference of the Association of Canadian Archivists tomorrow (June 28). The gala takes place at The Rooms at 7 p.m.  

This conference - Living on the Edge - The Place of Archives in the Heritage and Cultural Community - is being held at The Delta in St. John's from June 28 - July 1.  

Over 300 delegates from across Canada and the United States, as well as the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Tanzania and Vietnam will be attending the conference.  

�This is a wonderful opportunity for delegates around the world to visit our provincial archives housed at The Rooms,� said Minister Hedderson.  �This is a state of the art facility built to preserve our records and is a valuable resource for all types of people in the community, everyone from writers, students and lawyers to filmmakers, historians, and family researchers.�
