NLIS 11 May 8, 2006 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Newfoundland shooter picked to represent Canada at Shooting World Championships Dave Woolridge has finished the first round of the team trials for the Canadian Shooting Team, which will represent Canada in small bore rifle, pistol and shoot gun, at the ISSF World Championships. Dave shot 1124 out of 1200 to secure second place in the men's air rifle trials. The world championships will be shot in Zagreb, Croatia during the last week in July and the first week in August. On Tuesday and Wednesday Dave will be trying out for the three position rifle team. After that he will be on his way to Munich and Milan for the World Cup, where he will be shooting for Canada in all the Olympic rifle events.
