NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister continues to promote resident tourism during Tourism Awareness Week in Placentia and St. John�s

Tom Hedderson, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will be attending tourism events in Placentia and St. John�s this week to promote the new No Place Like Home campaign and the tourism industry overall.

Minister Hedderson will be the guest speaker on Wednesday (June 7) at the Avalon Gateway Tourism Association Tourism Conference and Awareness Event luncheon in Placentia. The event takes place at the Star of the Sea, Placentia at 12:30 p.m.

On Thursday (June 8) Minister Hedderson will bring greetings on behalf of the province at the St. John�s Tourism Awards Presentation. The event takes place at the Council Chambers, City Hall at 3 p.m.

Media representatives are invited to attend both events. Minister Hedderson will be available for interviews.
