NLIS 5 April 3, 2006 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister declares Month of the Arts; announces funding for the Art Procurement Program Tom Hedderson, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will officially declare April 2006 Month of the Arts at a news conference Tuesday, April 4. The Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council will detail activities and events to be held across the province during the month long celebration. Minister Hedderson will also announce increased funding under Budget 2006-07 for the Art Procurement Program. This exciting initiative recognizes and promotes the works of the province�s visual artists by exhibiting original artworks in public buildings.
