The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Gymnastics Newfoundland and Labrador (GNL) will be hosting the 2006 Winter Provincials Championships as well as the Atlantics qualifier at the Cygnus Gymnastics Training Centre, March 24-25. Over 100 of the provinces top gymnasts, representing all regions of the province, will be competing for a chance to represent NL at the Atlantic Gymnastics Championships which are being held at the Glacier in Mount Pearl on April 21-22.

Wayne Andrews, president of GNL stated that this year will mark the first time in the history of winter provincials that Level l athletes will be selected for the provincials team.

Competition begins Friday at 11:00 a.m. and Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
