Ultimate Fan Contest launched

Sport Newfoundland and Labrador announced today the launch of the Ultimate Fan Contest in conjunction with KidSport spokesperson Rex Goudie. Fans can win one of two grand prizes which include tickets to the sold out Rex Goudie and Melissa O�Neil "Let it Go Tour" at Mile One Stadium and backstage passes to meet Rex Goudie after the show. To enter the contest, people must visit the new Sport Newfoundland and Labrador web site at www.sportnl.ca where they will have to answer four questions. Answers to the four questions can be found within the www.sportnl.ca site.

KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that exists to remove the financial barriers that prevent some children from playing sport. Operating in 11 provinces and territories and in more than 120 communities across Canada, KidSport provides sport registration fee grants to financially-disadvantaged children. Since 1993, KidSport has raised in excess of $10 million and has helped more than 100,000 Canadian kids play a season of sport.

Sport Newfoundland and Labrador President, Tom Godden says, "This contest is designed to increase awareness of KidSport in the province. Sport should be accessible to all kids and it�s our goal to provide sporting opportunities to as many kids as possible across Newfoundland and Labrador. Through our member organizations, we are confident in our ability to deliver quality sporting opportunities so all kids can play."

The Ultimate Fan Contest will run from March 9-19, 2006 with the winners of the two grand prizes being drawn for on March 20 during the Hits 99.1 morning show. Contestants can enter as many times as they like. There will be daily prize giveaways throughout the duration of the contest including Samsung 1GB MP3 player�s compliments of Aliant. Contestants can tune into Hits 99.1 each morning for the daily prize giveaway.

Sport Newfoundland and Labrador is the volunteer organization committed to the promotion and advancement of amateur sport throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It represents 48 provincial sport organizations across the province.
