Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador Short Course Championships 2006 results

The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Two hundred and six swimmers from 12 clubs all over Newfoundland and Labrador met at the Arts and Culture Center Pool in Gander, March 3-5, to compete in the Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador Short Course Provincial Championships.

Competition got underway on Friday afternoon with events beginning at 3:00.

Three age groups competed - 12 and under, 13-14 and 15 and over.

Highlights of the meet:

St. John�s Legends Swim Club - 5,342 points

Mount Pearl Marlins � 2,819 points

Corner Brook Rapids � 2,429 points

Age group top achievers:

12 and under female: Tasha Pennell (Corner Brook Rapids)

12 and under male � Ian Martin (CBS Bluefins)

13-14 female � Kelsey Flynn (Corner Brook Rapids)

13-14 male � Adam Harvey (Mount Pearl Marlins)

15 and over female - Laura Murray (Mount Pearl Marlins)

15 and over male � Daniel Albrechtsons (St. John�s Legends)
