NOTE TO EDITORS: National Forest Week activities

Natural Resources Minister Kathy Dunderdale will participate in the opening ceremony of National Forest Week 2006 and the planting of the province�s 200-millionth tree seedling at the Wooddale Provincial Tree Nursery on Monday, September 25 at 10:30 a.m. The Wooddale Provincial Tree Nursery is located off New Bay Road, just east of Grand Falls-Windsor.

As part of National Forest Week, the provincial book reading tour of children�s book author Marie Resmer will visit the Janeway Children�s Hospital in St. John�s at 2 p.m. Monday. The book reading tour is meant to educate youth about the importance of forests.

Charlene Johnson, MHA for Trinity-Bay de Verde and parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources, will attend on behalf of Minister Dunderdale.

Media representatives are invited to attend both events. In the case of the book reading, media are asked to assemble at the Janeway Garage Parking Entrance at 1:45 p.m. to be escorted to the location of the reading.
