Request for extension granted to Workers� Compensation Review Committee The Workers� Compensation Review Committee�s request for more time to prepare their consultation report on the province�s workers compensation system has been granted. The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Statutory Review Committee Report was originally due to be submitted on March 31, 2006. The chair of the review committee, Bruce Peckford, requested an extension to ensure that a comprehensive report could be prepared. It will now be submitted to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador by May 31, 2006. The committee was struck in November 2005 to begin a review of the workers� compensation system. Public consultations were held in 11 locations across the province from January 9-27, 2006. Their report will advise on matters respecting the Workers Health, Safety Compensation Act, associated regulations, and the administration of each.
