Two hotel venues changed for workers� compensation public meetings

The committee reviewing the workers� compensation system has revised its selection of locations for public meetings in Grand Falls-Windsor and in St. John�s.

Meetings in Grand Falls-Windsor will now be held in the Robin Hood Hotel, while meetings in St. John�s will now be held at the Battery Hotel and Suites. The following listing of the committee�s public consultation schedule reflects these venue changes:

Labrador City January 9 9 a.m. Two Season�s Inn
Happy Valley-Goose Bay January 9 7 p.m. Labrador Inn
Plum Point January 10 1 p.m. Plum Point Hotel
Corner Brook January 11 9 a.m. Holiday Inn
Stephenville January 12 9 a.m. Holiday Inn
Baie Verte January 13 9 a.m. Baie Vista Inn
Grand Falls-Windsor January 16 9 a.m. Robin Hood Hotel
Gander January 16 7 p.m. Hotel Gander
Clarenville January 17 11 a.m. St. Jude Hotel
Marystown January 23 9 a.m. Hotel Marystown
St. John�s January 24- 27 9 a.m. Battery Hotel and Suites

Individuals wishing to make a presentation to the committee at one of the public sessions should contact the Labour Relations Agency at 729-4716 or 1-877-563-1063.

By law, a review of the workers� compensation system in Newfoundland and Labrador occurs every five years. A copy of the consultations paper "Finding the Balance" can be obtained by contacting the Labour Relations Agency at (709) 729-4716, by visiting the Labour Relations Agency Web site (www.gov.nl.ca/lra/publications/), or the WHSCC Web site (www.whscc.nf.ca).
