Media Advisory: Government Hosting Members of the European Parliament

Members of the European Parliament will be in St. John�s on November 25 and 26 to meet with government representatives regarding the seal harvest and other fisheries related topics. The Honourable Tom Rideout, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will join the delegation during the weekend.

The visit will include a meeting aimed specifically at discussing the seal harvest and a meeting where trade and EU tariff issues will be addressed. Representatives from all sectors of the industry will be attending. These are follow-up meetings to those that Minister Rideout held with EU representatives in Belgium earlier this fall.
