NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister to address international aquaculture conference

Tom Rideout, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will be attending AquaVision 2006, in Stavanger, Norway, from September 25 to 27. The theme of this year�s conference is Oceans of Opportunity � Strategies for sustainable aquaculture.

Minister Rideout will be opening the conference session on Capital Nourishment � Financing the world�s fastest growing food sector, on September 27. At that time he will also be speaking on the Canadian aquaculture industry.

Also as part of the conference, the minister will be participating in a tour to the Ryfylke fjords that will provide an opportunity to see state-of-the-art aquaculture developments.
