Government receives request from FPI for labour relations assistance

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has received a request from Fishery Products International (FPI) to provide labour relations assistance in the company�s discussions with the Fish, Food and Allied Workers (FFAW).

Officials from the Labour Relations Agency will be in contact with the parties. Tom Rideout, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Paul Shelley, Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment, will ensure that the services that the parties require from the agency to assist them in resolving their differences are offered.

Government remains committed to finding solutions to other issues facing FPI.
