NLIS 8 March 6, 2006 (Fisheries and Aquaculture) NOTE TO EDITORS: Government to host presentation by international seafood consultant The Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture will be hosting international seafood consultant, John Sackton, at the Marine Institute (Hampton Hall), 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7. This presentation has been an annual event for the past several years and is designed to give crab industry stakeholders an overview of the global crab market and an outlook for the upcoming season. This facilitates the process of price resolution leading into the International Boston Seafood Show. John Sackton of Seafood.Com, is an international seafood industry consultant based in Massachusetts. He provides pre-season and bi-weekly in-season market reports that are used in establishing raw material prices for the crab fishery in Newfoundland and Labrador.
