NOTE TO EDITORS:

Government to hold news conference and technical briefing for the media on changes to Fishing Industry Collective Bargaining Act

Tom Rideout, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Paul Shelley, Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment, and minister responsible for the Labour Relations Agency, will hold a news conference at 11:00 a.m., tomorrow (Wednesday, February 22).

The news conference will be preceded at 10:00 a.m. with a technical briefing by senior officials with the Labour Relations Agency and the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

The technical briefing and news conference will take place at the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block, Confederation Building. Both will address legislative changes to the Fishing Industry Collective Bargaining Act, coming out of the collective bargaining recommendations in the Cashin report.
