Premier Thanks Minister Sullivan for Years of Dedicated Service

Loyola Sullivan served the people of the province for the past 14 and a half years, as an Member of the House of Assembly, Opposition Critic, Deputy Opposition House Leader, Government House Leader, Party Whip, Public Accounts Committee Chair, Official Opposition Leader, and Minister. Today, the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, wished Mr. Sullivan well as he retires from provincial politics.

There is no doubt that Loyola stands shoulder to shoulder with our provinces most admired and respected political figures, said Premier Williams. He has served the people of Ferryland with pride and diligence over the years. And as a minister of the Crown he has inspired confidence and helped our people and our investors trust that we are serious when we speak of charting a new, responsible course to self-reliance. I have been honoured to work with Loyola over the years, and I wish him nothing but success and happiness as he starts a new chapter in his life.

I am delighted to have had Loyola as a part of our team. He made a tremendous contribution in his years of service and on behalf of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, I thank him sincerely and look forward to his future contributions to the province.
