Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT SUBMITTED:

Belleoram Crushed Rock Export Quarry                                  (Reg. 1247)
Proponent: Continental Stone Limited

The proponent has submitted an Environmental Preview Report (EPR) for the proposed crushed rock export quarry covering a 900 hectare area north of Belleoram in Belle Bay. The EPR was requested to address deficiencies in the registration. The EPR focus is on information gaps identified during the government and public review of the Registration document. The EPR was received on November 20, 2006; public comments are due by December 25, 2006; and, the minister's decision is due by January 4, 2007. The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
