Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING WITHDRAWN:

Corner Brook Pulp & Paper District 14 Access Road Amendment                          (Reg. 1274)
Proponent: Corner Brook Pulp & Paper Ltd.

The proponent has withdrawn the above project from environmental assessment review.


UNDERTAKING RELEASED:

Lethbridge Mink Fur Farm                                                       (Reg. 1269)
Proponent: Bonavista Mink Farms Inc.

The minister has released the above project from further environmental assessment review, subject to the following conditions:

• All farm development, including manure spreading and buildings must be located a minimum of 1.4 kilometres from the nearest residence. This condition would also apply to off-site manure disposal agreements.
• An alternate access road must be constructed rather than the former railway bed as proposed.
