Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

South Brook Point, Pasadena Resort Development                                                  (Reg. 1278)
Proponent: K & W Investments Limited

The proponent proposes to develop the property formerly known as South Brook Park into a commercial tourism venture. The undertaking is located on the southern shoreline of Deer Lake, within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Pasadena. The area will be developed into a commercial tourism venture consisting of 168 resort development units as chalets and condominiums (48 dual resident and six multi-resident units), public trails, picnic areas, parking lots, interpretation kiosks, restaurants and aquatic/sports facilities. There will be new roads, water and sewer, and electrical and communications systems developed as well. The undertaking was registered on July 19, 2006; public comments are due by August 24, 2006; and, the minister's decision is due by September 2, 2006.


The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
