NOTE TO EDITORS: Photo opportunity � Minister to present two national awards
 
Environment and Conservation Minister Clyde Jackman will be in Corner Brook tonight to present two national North American Waterfowl Management Plan Awards during the Valuing Nature � Conservation and Stewardship Canada�s national conference.

Minister Jackman will present the Eastern Habitat Joint Venture Partner Award to the Newfoundland and Labrador Stewardship Association of Municipalities Incorporated (SAM) at 7:00 p.m. at the Pepsi Centre Studio. This award is the North American Waterfowl Management Plan�s highest joint venture level award and is presented to individuals or organizations whose contributions have significantly advanced the goals and objectives of the joint venture.

The minister will also present the Great Blue Heron Award to the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) at 8:30 p.m. at the Glynmill Inn. This award recognizes participants who have made major long-term contributions that result in benefits to waterfowl and other migratory bird populations of North America. IOC was a recipient of the award last year however the award will be presented tonight.
