Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Humber Valley (Birch Grove Estates) Residential Development                          (Reg. 1234)
Proponent: Elcon Holdings Inc.

The proponent proposes to develop fifty-nine, one hectare rural residential building lots on an eighty-three hectare parcel of land situated on the north shore of the Humber River between the community of Humber Village and the Marbleview Estates development. Access to the site will be via existing access roads and the bridge through Humber Village. Water will be supplied by individual artesian wells and each property will have an on-site septic system. The undertaking was registered on January 31; public comments are due by March 7; and the minister's decision is due by March 17.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.

UNDERTAKING WITHDRAWN:
Clarenville Mink Fur Farm                                    (Reg. 1231)

The proponent has withdrawn the above undertaking from environmental assessment review.
