Political parties reminded of rules for placement of election signs

The Department of Transportation and Works today reminded political parties and their campaign workers that it is against the Highway Traffic Act to attach election signs to government highway signs.

The department is requesting that political parties notify their campaign workers of the rules against posting election signs on highway sign posts. This is consistent with the rules in place for other elections.

The department asks any candidate with signs attached to highway sign posts to immediately remove them.
