Club basketball championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will host the first provincial Club Championships this weekend, December 2-3, at various venues in the metro region.

Four events are slated for this weekend including the U13 boys and girls and the U14 boys and girls. The tournaments will be held at St. Kevin�s Junior and Senior High schools, St. John Bosco and St. Matthew�s School. Clubs represented include Cowan Heights Youth Basketball, Gould�s Hoopsters, Shea Heights Minor, Junior Vikings, Mount Pearl Minor and Future Stars.

The winning team will earn the right to participate in the Eastern Canadian Championships slated for July 1 weekend in Prince Edward Island.
