CP-Atlantic Coaches

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association is now accepting applications for assistant coaches for the Center for Performance-Atlantic. The Center for Performance is a program that will identify, select and train athletes and coaches who will contribute to Canada�s future international success. Coaches will be expected to attend two-three training sessions in various regions of Atlantic Canada with Newfoundland athletes. The projected start date for the program is approximately the first of September and will continue through until April 2006.

Coaches interested in an assistant coach position should have the following qualifications/abilities:

  • Availability to attend all scheduled team training sessions and regional sessions;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all coaches in the program;
  • Ability to deliver national curriculum to athletes in an effective manner;
  • Ability to promote the CP-Atlantic and act in a professional manner as a representative of Canada Basketball and the provincial partners;
  • Complete Level 2 NCCP Certification in Basketball

Interested coaches in Newfoundland and Labrador should submit their resume, and cover letter highlighting their basketball experience to the NLBA, CP-Selection Committee, P.O. Box 21029, St. John�s, NL, A1A 5B2, by Tuesday, August 9.
