Eastern Canadian Indoor Volleyball
Championships
The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball
Association will be sending over 80 athletes on six provincial teams to attend
the Eastern Canadian Indoor Championships on this coming Friday and Saturday
(July 29-30) in Moncton, New Brunswick. One Midget +1 team and two midget teams,
on both the male and female sides will represent the province over the upcoming
tournament weekend.
Furthermore, these athletes will also attend a new tournament designed to
introduce them to the fun and challenging play of beach volleyball. All 80
athletes will be paired off to play in the Eastern Canadian Beach Championships
on Sunday, July 31, and Monday August 1. This tournament will be held at Parlee
Beach, near Moncton, and provides an opportunity for athletes to challenge
themselves and test their skills in a new beach environment.
There are many new faces involved in this year's Provincial summer program and
we expect that these new athletes will have fun developing their volleyball
skills, and social skills while meeting athletes from around the province. We
wish them all the best, said
Mellissa Oates, Technical Director, NLVA.
