The following is being distributed at the
request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:
Men�s and women�s U19 national
basketball championships
Two basketball teams from Newfoundland will be
traveling to Laval, Quebec to participate in the 2005 Junior (Under 19) Men�s
and Women�s Club National Championships this weekend, June 30-July 3.
Representing the province in the female category will be the Junior Sea~Hawks
from St. John�s, coached by Doug Partridge. The male category will be
represented by the Cavaliers and will be coached by Yasir Khan, also from St.
John�s. Other provinces represented in the tournaments include Quebec, Ontario,
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and the Northwest Territories. The games will
commence on Thursday, June 30 and will wind up Sunday with the Championships
games in both divisions.
