NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister to announce list of sports for 2006 Deer Lake Winter Games

Paul Shelley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation and Minister responsible for Labrador Affairs, will announce the list of sports for the 2006 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games during the official opening of the games office at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, June 3. The office is located at 7A North Main Street, Deer Lake. Media are invited to attend.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Games is a program of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Held every second year, alternating winter and summer, the games, the largest multi-sport event staged for youth in the province, bring together young athletes from 11 to 18 years of age from all regions of the province. The 2006 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games will be held in Deer Lake from February 25 to March 4, 2006.
