Complete results of 2005 Newfoundland Senior Championships - Weightlifting

The 2005 Newfoundland Open Senior Weightlifting Championships were held on Saturday, April 2. The event was held at Memorial University in St. John's.

Dave King was the most outstanding performer of the competition by setting three consecutive Clean and Jerk records in the 77kg class. The old record was 142.5kg. Dave started with 143.0, and followed that up with 147.5 and 150.0. Combined with his 112.5kg Snatch, Dave also set a new total record of 262.5kg.

Provincial records were also set by Frank Williams, with three masters records in the 94kg category. Dave King, Matt Maxwell and David Adams all qualified for the 2005 National Senior Championships that are being held in Saskatoon in May.

The competition had three age groups: Junior (under 20), Senior (20-34), Master (35 and over). The complete results are as follows:
